In August 2020, The Yucaipa Companies entered into a joint venture with London based K2 Agency—led by Founder and renowned music agent John Jackson. Under this partnership, K2 Agency joins the Yucaipa-owned Artist Group International in the Y Entertainment Group.
Launched in 2004, the UK-based K2 Agency counts superstars such as Metallica, Iron Maiden, Slayer, Alter Bridge & A Day To Remember among its legendary clientele. In recent years it has acquired UK companies Factory Music and E.G.O. Agency to fortify its position as an industry powerhouse.
After successfully answering an advertisement in the Melody Maker aged 19 back in 1972, John Jackson began his career at the legendary Chrysalis Agency booking college shows for Roxy Music, Procol Harem, and Supertramp. He soon developed his own roster of artists including AC/DC, Thin Lizzy and the Sex Pistols. Iron Maiden was signed in 1979 and is just one of his long-term clients which include Metallica and Slayer. He founded K2 in 2004 and in 2009 created the ground-breaking Sonisphere Festival series playing throughout Europe and including the famous Knebworth Park.
